Advice & Guidance for Individuals
The Mallows Company is the designated provider of information, advice and guidance in the Borough of Wellingborough, operating on behalf of the National Careers Service.
Through our team of highly qualified careers advisers, we can not only offer impartial help to individuals to assist with learning, training and work opportunities but also offer tailored support to employers who are rolling out redundancy programmes.
Getting back to work
Whether you have been made redundant, are unsure of your next move or are returning to work after time out, The Mallows Company can provide practical assistance and arm you with the right tools to overcome the barriers you may face to ultimately help you achieve your full potential.
We do so through the National Careers Service, offering one-to-one sessions and group workshops which focus on:
- Understanding its value and how to create one
- Identifying your strengths and skills
- Crafting your profile to best promote you
- Tailoring your CV to specific vacancies
Improving your interview skills:
- Understanding the importance of preparation
- Creating the right image
- Handling common interview questions
- Undertaking ‘mock’ interviews
Seeking employment or further training:
- Completing application forms
- Finding the right websites to meet your needs
- Downloading job details
- Applying for jobs or training online
We also stage a quarterly jobs fair in Wellingborough called ROSE – Real Options for Skills and Employment – at which you can gain direct access to our team of qualified advisers and to job vacancies, volunteering and apprenticeship opportunities. Building Better Opportunities
Building Better Opportunities (BBO) brings together funding from the Big Lottery fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.
Support is given to individuals who have barriers and focuses on their skills.
Leads to better co-ordinated services at local level, creating opportunities for work.
